About Us
This all begins with Jeff's father, Jim Wick. He took what he had and what he could get to build a full racing operation. This included two race cars and tow rig, eventually. Jim used this drive and ambition to gain sponsorships and funding throughout his career. After a near fatal accident, Jim was no longer able to drive. Through it all, he was still able to have his racing operation under other drivers as well.

Following his dad's footsteps, Jeff started joining in the High Performance Engine building. After enough convincing, Jeff stepped into one of the Pro Stock cars that Jim had purchased while being sidelined. Jeff stayed in the sport as long as he could. He got his Pro Stock license in a Pro Stock Plymouth Arrow and ended his Pro Stock career in a Pro Stock Dodge Avenger. The father-son duo was one of the only, and the only for a while, team competing with a Mopar motor. This posed issues for them as they struggled through qualifying most NHRA events. But, their legacy didn't end with NHRA. Jim, with the help of Jeff and family, started the Midwest Pro Stock Association. This gathered Pro Stock racers of all kinds and placed them around the mid west to compete in match racing. Jeff and MPSA unbanded following the rise of the cost of Pro Stock racing through NHRA and IHRA. The last time he was able to drive his Pro Stock Dodge Avenger was in 2014 when Jim unfortunately passed away, Jeff was able to take him on his last ride. In 2023, Jeff was approached by Rick Jones and Kevin Lawrence in regards to a resurgence of the MPSA. Not only did they ask for the Wick family blessing, but they also asked him to join the group driving with his former Pro Stock Dodge Avenger. Jeff will be back on the road and back behind the wheel with MPSA in 2023.
Jordan has has always wanted a dragster. She begged Jeff as a child to get me a junior dragster, just like everyone had. She was involved in other sports and clubs, so there wasn't nearly the time. But, the dream never left. When she was 18, she street raced at their local track for the first time. It was a great place to start. After losing that car to a blown motor, she sidelined my racing ambitions and started college. She started college with a Physical Therapy degree in mind. She bought herself a new street car and put her head in the books. About a year in, she decided to take a break from school. After living out her young adult years, she decided to get back into racing. On Halloween of 2017, Jeff and Jordan drove to Hillsboro, MO and left with the car of her dreams. She had never been in a dragster before that day. For 2 years, we did work on the chassis, the driver and the motor. Year 3, we we're ready.
In 2020, for the first time in 25 years, the 500" cubic inch Mopar they had laying around came to life in September. It was too late, season is almost over. Especially for Wisconsin. After a couple of shakedown passes by a drag racing veteran & friend, Gary Wood, we were ready. With 5 whole passes under her belt, she quickly approached the 2021 season. We struggled through 2021 trying to get the car to be launching correctly. It wasn't until the very end of 2021 that we we're able to confidently say we had it under control and ready to fine tune. However, COVID struck our household which ended our 2021 season. We proudly completed our goal of finishing the NHRA license during the 2022 season. We are currently renovating our 1990-something Vintage Trailer to be roadworthy. In the meantime, we have brought on some new additions to the motor in the dragster and continue to attend events with a borrowed trailer.
The newest car and driver to join the fleet is Bryce Wick in his 1987 Chrysler Conquest, called Slow Quest. The Chrysler Conquest is equipped with a 408 Small Block Mopar built by Jim's Car Shop. Bryce and Jeff created this build with the intentions of competing in the up-and-coming Drag N' Drive events and possibly some local bracket races. Bryce was entered and ready to compete in Sick Summer that took place in our neck of the woods earlier this year, however, they were unable to make it to registration due to some parts delays. Bryce continued to test throughout the remainder of 2023 and is prepared for more Drag N' Drive events in 2024.
