I was fortunate enough to attend the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers game on Wednesday, August 9th. I was the only drag racing car on the property along with being the only female owner & driver! I handed out almost 30 hero cards to both kiddos and adults. I put lots of kids in the drivers seat and saw a whole lot of smiles! After some rain showers, I was even featured during the 4th inning with my dragster on the jumbotron along with winning free car washes! All around, it was a great event with some great partners!
4/24/2023 0 Comments Trailer Renovation is Complete! This project has truly been a labor of love. This trailer that was one full of love, laughter, and race cars soon became full of leaks, water, rust and damage. Years ago, my little brother hopped into the car hauler portion of our 48ft Vintage Trailer for a full on , HGTV style demolition. Which is how we got to the state of the first picture I have below. Between February to last weekend, I came to the race shop from my current town at least once a week to get to work on putting it back together for all 3 drivers to use this year. But, we couldn't do it without proper guidance. We had a family member, who specializes in construction, that we called in to help up start putting the ceiling back in because we had no CLUE were to even begin! (Trust me, we needed him! Thanks Burt!) Once the ceiling was done and in, it felt like we flew through the rest of it! We began with the (pictured) left wall from the corner where the cabinets live. We learned more and more with every cut, every panel placed, and every screw to hold it in. By the time we got to the end and began the (pictured) right wall, I think we all felt a bit like experts. Some work days, the boys would have a panel cut and would be loading it into the trailer to be fitted before I even was prepared from installing the last panel. Needless to say, we got a flow for what we were doing and we just went with the flow. And it felt amazing! What an improvement. So, let me run ya down what's new.
I am so incredibly happy and proud of everyone who has helped and continues to help us get this trailer road worthy. While we have spent many years participating within the professional ranks of the NHRA in the Pro Stock category, we truly are just a family owned, small business, drag racing loving family who work everyday trying to live the dream! Right now, our dream is still a work in progress but I already have my head in the clouds after this weekend's team effort.......
Years back, we started by gutting our car hauler portion to repair years of wear and specifically leaks in the roof. Last year, we finally bought all of the supplies needed to renovate the entire trailer and get it back in roadworthy condition. We recently started and completed the ceiling in the car hauler portion! We began by repairing the leaks and sealing the metal channels with a sealant to protect it from any water damage it may have been exposed to now or later. We also used a special tape to seal and cover the holes in the roof from inside the trailer and outside prior to putting the new panels in. Once that was complete, we called in troops with a lot more expertise than we had in this area to help us with measuring panels out to fit our A/C unit and many wires for lights. (Thank you to an in-law for all of your help!) Once the ceiling was "in", we waited until the next week to secure all of the needed screws and prepare all of the wiring for the incoming lighting. Next up, we will be hanging up brand new LED lights and moving on to the walls!
